i wrote this because it strikes a moment when everything you think is okay isnt

i am nothing

in the eyes

of my mother

when i get good grades

she doesnt say

not one good word

when i do something good

she doesnt even say

one good word

when i didnt get

a good grade

she said id be nothing

she never said she loved me

i am nothing

in the eyes of my mother

i will never be good enough

i am

beaten down

from heaven

by the shaft

of my mother

it feels like a bullwhip

going across my back

everytime

she puts me

beats me
