would you

would you

A Poem by taylorrose

If I said I wanted to die.
would you let me go?
If I said I didn't want to be here.
would you understand?
If I said I couldn't handle it.
would you be okay with that?
would you understand.
If I begged you to let me go?
would you let me?
Could you forgive me?
Do you feel my pain?
would you even care,
Would you beg me to stay.
if I told you I didn't want to go on.
would you tell me it's OK to leave?
Would you tell me to stay.
would you understand my pain?
would you understand the loneliness?
would you know the darkness that confines me.
would you let me go?
would you be okay?
if I wanted to die.
Would you forgive me?

Some questions are never answered, they are left with a silence. A silence that hurts, it wants to speak for itself but sadly it can't. So it wonders, it cries behind the closed door, hoping that one day it will get a chance to speak.

I find this work thought provoking, even though my suggestion would be to revise and try to omit the words that can be omitted so that the poem has its depth and clarity.

Well done...
