Running The Lines of a Dreamcatcher

Running The Lines of a Dreamcatcher

A Poem by taylor.mickles

Why are you always running?
Following a winding road
Are you chasing those dreams that died so long ago?

Everyone expects you to make something out of your life
Your honey-slathered heart tries to make everything right
You've bottle up your spirit and cast it into the sea
Hoping that someone would find it and set you free

All you want is someone to tell you which way to go
Someone to tell you something you should know

All you crave is peace, love, and happiness
Cliche, you know
This road is too long
Your soul is crying
But you have to be strong
To yourself you are lying

You're a stranger to yourself
A stranger to you everyone you know
Save your mental health
Don't put on a show

Runaway child
Chase those long lost desires
Your soul can only take so much disappointment before it tires
