Uprising

Uprising

A Poem by taylor.mickles

Oh no!
I've started a fire
It's spreading across the empire
You left me alone too long
I got scared
A ruler in the making
I wasn't prepared
You had me up on a pedestal
But I'm afraid of heights
I did what you told me
I followed the lights
But the lights illuminated things I didn't want to see
How could you have chosen this life for me?
You send me to battle demons
You tell me to bend the flames
But you have given me no reasons
Just giving orders and taking names
What is it that you stand for?
Marching in the front line
Well come on
Come on!
You're running out of time
I've started a rebellion
The prisoners have been set free
They're vicious and they're angry
I've sent them after thee
We're famished and dehydrated
But our wills are strong
It's time to change the traditions
You been in reign too long
