Throbbing

Throbbing

A Poem by Fire&Ice

Held loosely

Like the leash of a well-behaved dog

She'd run for miles

Until her muscles throbbed with aches

Sung softly

Like the lullaby of a baby

She'd guide a brush

Through the gnarls of her firey hair

Bitten roughly

Like a shark's teeth to human flesh

She'd play dirty

With the minds of all surrounding

Yet so delicately

She would take the knife to her own mind

Scraping at

What others had told her

The consummate high achiever!
Let the poetry flow, you fully understand the Zone, what with lines like:

"...(on second thought, the whole poem exists in that zone of simply knowing)

To attempt to explain this "being in the zone" would require me to quote the whole poem.
5 stars are not enough. Well done!.

restraint is one word i would sum this work up in... it is the feeling that many of us have about being controlled and manipulated by those around us. the 'looking glass self' would definitely apply here; the many facets of an individual... just trying to be.
