poison nest

poison nest

A Poem by Fire&Ice

you made my nest out of poison plants
brand new skin so quickly made old
feathers of fear so hastily sewn
out of the nest into free fall
you thought I would crash and return
but here I go, towards volition
I may be on the ground, but
I am here because I am free
and you will never change that for me.

A nice empowerment poem. At first I thought this was about a signifcant other. But seems more about a parent. A bird that falls is a disappointment. But not all birds need to fly, hence being free. I dont think I want to assign a number to this simply because I feel its short and simple. Just know I liked this poem. Thanks for the read.
