Alone Again

I felt giddy. That kiss was so smooth...savory...potent...perfect. I can't find a good

enough word. It was...inhuman. I can barely remember the bite, but the kiss lingers in my

mind like a bad dream. It's all I can think about.

Jayna has got me all excited. She insisted that its a "date" and wants to do my hair

and make-up. I don't even know when we're meeting! He hasn't called yet. She is so

dramatic. I'm only meeting him so that no one else has to see the naked a*****e.

OH, my phone is beeping with a text. Probably Jayna with a new lipgloss for me

to try. I read it.
Them: Hi, Ava. Can you meet me at the park on 23rd street? 15 minutes.

Me: Um, sure. I'll be there.

It's Jayna, I know it is. But I wonder why it didn't say it was from Jayna. She's in

my contacts.

I walked down 23rd and saw the park. I saw a figure under a tree and decided it

was her and walked over.

"Hey, Jay..." I started. "I mean, Zane. Sorry, hey."

"Hi, Ava. How are you? How's your lip?" He almost blushed. He was so pale and I

saw the glimpse of a rosy hue to his cheeks. He wore a black leather jacket and a light

blue Tee-shirt. He had on faded jeans. He patted next to him to tell me to sit down.

"I'm fine. It's good, healing...And how are you?"

"Doing well, thanks. I really like your top. Blue. It matches your eyes."

"Why, thank you, Zane," I smile, blush, and turn away. I sat down beside him. He put

his hand over mine and looked into my eyes.

"Your welcome," he whispered. "Now, about earlier today..."

"No, really, it's fine," I giggled.

"I'm really sorry about biting you. It's healed up nicely, I see."

      "Yeah, that's right."

"That's good." He turned away and grunted. Kind of growled actually.

      "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine," He said in a husky voice. It sounded like he was having trouble breathing.

"I'm trying not to kiss you again."

"Why?" I whispered and kissed him right there in the park. He wasn't really surprised,

and started responding long before I did last time. He leaned me back up against the tree,

laying over me. Then I heard a thump somewhere nearby. Then a cry of rage. By the time

I opened my eyes, I saw a golden speck and glossy black wings in the distance. And Zane

was nowhere to be seen.
