Zane's POV

I can't believe I was so impulsive and stupid. Yes, she was nice-looking. Yes, I 

was somewhat attracted to her. Yes, I kissed her. But so what? So I have a fiancee. Do I 

tell Dri? No, she'd make sure I don't meet with her again. I'm not sure that I would've 

stopped kissing her if she hadn't she pushed away. I will meet with her again, and yes, I 

will control myself.

I walked into the temple and walked up the thirty-odd steps, until I reached the 

Pool of Cerridwen. I put my hand lightly on top and feel the crystal water enter me, read 

my thoughts, read my feelings. Intertwine with my DNA. I felt it flood through every 

artery, vein, and blood vessel. To be consumed inside with enchanted water.

I leaned forward a bit and pushed my hand under the surface. I'm pulled through 

the water, down deep inside myself, inside every person, inside the world. And I began to 

see in the distance a boy in black and a girl in purple having a conversation in the grass. 

He touched her hand and she smiled. I came all the way up to their faces for a split 

second, hardly long enough to recognize a face, and I zipped backwards, through the 

world, every person, and lastly, me. 

I'm back in the temple and I don't know who that young couple was. But I have an 

odd feeling that the boy...was me. And that the girl...wasn't Adrianna.
