Today Isn't The Only Day- May 1st, 2012

A Chapter by Sunflower

Dear Everyone,
Are you wondering what this is all about? Have you seen the butterflies drawn on arms, hands, legs, and else where now for quiet some time? It is because people are trying to help themselves be better for other people, the ones who love them dearly.
The Butterfly Project. This is what is going to help us all. It is going to bring us into the world of caring. Not just caring something much bigger than that. This can be a movement that takes us all into the eyes of love, and compassion. Let our eyes see that people are hurting and need to be heard, for if some one would just listen then maybe they would see that the world can be kind, not so hurtful.
Today is the day. Look around, and think. Do you see all of the hands and arms covered in Butterflies with Names by them? They have a purpose. Today Is the day to show to everyone who is facing the self harm problems known as cutting, that people are noticing their pain, and want to help them be okay again.
Before today teens would draw these Butterflies and name them of important people whom they wish not to hurt. Then the deal was they could not wash them off, could only let them gradually fade on their own. These Butterflies were drawn when a person would have an urge to cut. If you did cut with a butterfly drawn on your skin, then all butterflies drawn would die. Then is when the Butterfly Project sets in on the person who self harms.
Thoughts begin setting in. All of those names, faces of the people they hurt, just by hurting themselves. They start to see how harming themselves is harming others. That is why this is so important. I hope that everyone sees though, Today maybe the day for awareness, but everyday it is still a battle.
