Better Keep It

Better Keep It

A Poem by Sunflower

Time is going by so fast,

I just want to make it last,

Please don’t leave just quite yet,

There is still something I haven’t said…

You drive away,

Please don’t leave me here alone like this,

I’m left here in the rain,

All you left me was a kiss goodbye…

Chorus:

You keep me a secret,

And tell me I better keep it,

You hide me away,

And tell me there is nothing I can say,

You say I better keep it on the d.l. ,

Or we wont have anything and that’s where my heart dwells…

You must feel ashamed,

To hide me away,

To keep it all hush hush,

Like my love isn’t good enough…

The bass is pounding into what you said,

All these thoughts are running through my head,

The silence makes it worse for me,

I feel it into what I have to what I need…

Chorus: Repeat

But here I am with you looking at the moon and stars,

Sitting here close together in your car,

Letting you keep me as your dirty little secret,

And I have to be the one who gets hurt from keeping it…

So stare with me at the moon,

The only one I kiss will be you,

As your lips kiss every fish in the sea,

I will wait here just to have you love me

Chorus: Repeat

(end)

Nice song! :) It actually sounds like a song that will be on the radio someday. I can hear the beats and rhythms in my head as well. I can almost see this as a rock ballad.
