Tattoo.

new ink

to try to replace and think

a new pain

to help me live again

it helps me know i'm real

and it takes your place in this ordeal

it stays just like you

and helps me remember the who

in who i am

and how i still need a friend

in the end it changes

just like i am changing

maybe not for the better

or to stay through this weather

but i am here

a time or two

just to be there for you.

I enjoy the concept of tattoos cause everyone has a reason/story about each one. They can be a reminder of what the future holds, helps to keep you grounded and focused on what needs to be prioritized. I don't have any tattoos, but always take time to admire the ones which stand out to me.

The poems concept is unique, although I wonder if you could add the other side of tattoos being more than long lasting but a symbol of strength and art.
