I feel like a lot of teens and young adults could really relate to this work, especially those who participate in self abuse. Those who do often claim that they feel alive and free when they do it, and I think these words, so few and yet so real, really embody that. A harsh piece that really calls for desperate attention.
But yet, it could also be more abstract, like perhaps from the point of view of a girl or a boy who was so overwhelmed with brimming ecstasy that, once they were rejected, they were brought back to a cold and unwelcoming reality where they were forced to feel "alive", but they never said they felt "happy." You definitely have a unique writing style, and I really enjoy it!
