They Hate Sober

They Hate Sober

A Poem by Sunflower

Everyone has a reason
They all have pain
There is too much treason
Everyone is staying the same.

Sitting in the back of the car
Smoking the sense out of the brain
Acting nothing like who they are
Everyone is feeling pain.

Somehow everyone ended up here
With drugs and alcohol on their mind
This is taking away their thoughts of fear
Everyone is loosing their strength to be kind.

All they had to say was No
Did they
No, No they didn't leave or go
They smoked and stayed.

This is how they handle their pain
This is how they get away
But this is how they started to change
This is how the town learned their name.

Everyone looks down on these kids
Looks down on their weakness for drugs
No one wants to try to understand the stoned kids
Maybe all they needed was hugs.

They will never find themselves
Not with the way you treat them
You make them want it more
Because you are half the reason they hate sober.

I loveee this. All I need is a hug, and the reason why people smoke is to get out of reality. Good job.
