Drift MeA Poem by Taubah BlackmanTimes of ultimate vulnerability...
drift me, send me, take me to a distant land.
find me, soothe me, bring me more to me than i am.
hold me, reach me, see in me the pain that is. drift away the darkness, and find me all the hope to live.
no death, no light, no sounds to soothe.
no streams, no thoughts, no past to remove.
drift me to a place that speaks only silent words of harmony. drift me to a sound to hear my sorrow as it draws from me.
reach me, see me as i lay inside this shell. and small the child with in grows, screaming in this burning hell.
small the child within me grows sowing the seeds of despair. deep within the shadows roam causing me to weep and stare.
causing me to find no words to say to you my pain. it hurts deeply and never ending the source awaiting shame.
don't want to read don't want to talk, just hold me in your arms.
keep me from my distant dreams away from night time harm.
where are you mother? the night is long. the nights unforgiving sights. the truth calling me to run, but my legs too locked in fright.
her touch his touch her touch so true. a distance in the morning light, a voice " i love you"
call me in and keep me safe... the night is all too dark, the pain too great.
