What World Is This?

What World Is This?

A Poem by Taubah Blackman
"

Poem of deep emotions describing the confusions of life.

"

what world is this?
the winds grow distant
changing with every breath

the sky dripping to darkness
under swaying songs at rest.

so strange and unfamiliar
please tell me the time?

the distance entangles
in each web i decline

a moment ~i sleep years in a day.
drifting like clouds swaying in every way.

the calmness disguised
as my wisdom undecides.

which direction dear heart
does the world turn to wise?

while the mourning pauses
and stains upon my cheek

the distance resembles
my weariness so bleak

and as time keeps changing
while I'm caught looking in.

my sadness unleashes
with the loss of you friend.

as this story unfolds,
the rules do not apply.

yet my spirit lay shaken
while yearning to fly.

As your drifting in distance
my mind draws a blank.

with feelings on mute
to withhold this violent shake

and the clouds disappear, and stars
fail to carry true bliss.

my soul hangs in sadness....
what world is this???
