HOW COULD WE?

HOW COULD WE?

A Poem by Joshua

HOW COULD WE?

We did it.

We turned and ran.

We saw the devil

In disguise and

Ran.

I stopped and looked back

And saw my heart

Broken and blue and

Stone held true.

Your lovely bones

Resting on

Silken stone,

And the howl

Of the night

Pitched against

Our wills might.

We did our best,

And the petals fell,

Like they always

Would,

One day.
