HIDDEN PLACES

HIDDEN PLACES

A Poem by Joshua

Hidden Places

There are parts of me

Rotting and wedged

In dark hidden places

In between sliding flesh and the fabric of me

I have some removed

Pulled out with a terrifying crunch

A painful snap and a tug

I weep over these lost parts

Like a lover that could never love

And so was never loved

By the healthy person I want to be

Created by circumstance or destiny

Or maybe..

Me

As I struggle

With this life, this body,

Shrouded in blood and bone

As I steer it into courses unknown and

Over falls of teetering heights

Into pools of tranquility

Before

Cascading down again

Moving

Towards the sea

Moving

Towards me

As the moon

Lays its soft ghostly light

Across a body dark and dense

Spooky write and charmingly mysterious.... like the concept of soul rotting when we want it to be healthy.. symbolism well used.
