Supernova

Supernova

A Poem by terry smith

The sun laid it's face upon the earth

then
disappeared
& one by one the stars came out
just to glimmer
in
your
eyes
& in that moment
time stood still
& your beauty
took away my
oxygen
that was long ago
& now the only thing
I see
when I look into your face
is
your
lies
here we go again
round & round
it never ends
& I am not
thinking clear
can you teach me
how to walk away
from the
one I love
when everything
the sun the moon
& stars above
reminds me of her
& now
I am
so
all
alone
please forgive me
I don't know
what I'm saying
when
your
not
near
just one look
at you
& I get
sucked into your vortex
& disappear
I once knew who I was
but now I'm just your chameleon
to match the
clothes you wear
the binds
cut so tight
that I
am
bleeding
& I
don't
care
blinded by your supernova
I can feel it
as it
peels
my
skin
can't wait
for this
to be over
so I can
crawl out
from within
