A Poem by terry smith

counted
every
second
of
those
six
months
as
if
each
one
would
be
my
last

the
echos
of my
silent
screams
rang out
like
mission
bells
driving my desire
to
kiss
the
razer
blade
like

long
lost
lover

time
stood
still
to
keep
watch
for
me
just
in
case
you
called
but
you
never
did

i've
gotten
used
to
the
sound
of
wet
skin
on
rubber
I sent
you
post
cards
written
in
seamen

blood
....tell
me
did
you
read
them

thanks....my poetry has been all over the map lately
-- wow... this is crushing... and the image is one that i have never ever read... p.s. i once waited for someone for more than six years... i grew old without growing old... stranded in one moment of time... it was bad...
