My favorite ChristmasA Poem by terry smithAh my favorite Christmas I was ten plus one no gifts were we to see, though no evil had been done for we were government peasants and cut down a Charlie Brown tree to stand over the presents that were not to be We were nearly ready for bed when their arose such a clatter a shiny silver sleigh ...a ford for that matter carrying two men....uncles to me and on top a beautiful... live ...Christmas tree so we tore down o'l Charlie and said a eulogy.. and put up the new one as quick as could be and tears filled my eyes see Christmas it comes i knew that Santa didn't see us as bums the story has been written so i turn the page but wait...there is nothing for a boy of my age ...so I gave them all to my little brother and the smile on his face was better than any present a gift never to erase Christmas had come to one and to all it's not about the presents but the memories you recall Merry Christmas Everyone. © 2015 terry smith |
