Multitasking

Multitasking

A Story by terry smith

...so I'm at work doing like six things at once...something in the oven soup on the stove dicing onions..ect...and the whole time Alanis Morrissette's -You oughta know-is playing in my head only to be interrupted by random thoughts that leak in like the radiation from your t.v. dinner...things like--Old Men And Viagra---his seamen blew like the desert wind----Buzzkill---She deflated my birthday balloon like the Hindenburg---a little music--" an older version of me is she perverted like me would she go"-I woke up this morning and it was so hazy ,I adjusted my sundial and now it's just so damn hot.---then I flip something, deglaze a pan and---I once had a job making shoes for horseflies, it wasn't bad but man they were hard to ride---I once got a job tuning the grand ......canyon,all the echo's were flat---check the temp on whats in the oven---little music again....I was in a bar in Iceland, I ordered a Bacardi on the rocks .I tried to lick it as fast as i could but still my tongue got stuck----"cause the love that you gave that we made wasn't able to make it enough for you to open wide. no I was playing scrabble using sign language with a deaf girl. when she held up the yield sign I went for it----yesterday I saw an old lady slip on the ice...it was like a slow motion trip across Europe, she had time to send a postcard--drain some pasta in the sink...-Titanic Salad...there was just enough iceberg to make me wish I had ordered the soup---I once knew this guy who was so humongous he blocked out the sun like some solar eclipse leaving the shadows to fend for themselves--it was a slap in the face how quickly i was replaced are you thinking of me when you f**k her?well i'm here to remind you of the mess you left when you went away I was following this lady home the other day that drove like Sammy Davis on the bumper cars--I am so pissed! I went to Dr. Seuss to get this moss looked at and now my HMO won't cover it, the three handled family gradunza--plate a couple of dishes...-I was an interpreter for a seeing eye dog--Iceberg  Farmer...she had a gift for fortune telling and on the morning of April 15th 1912 when she looked out over the fields she knew what was about to happen---

I was smiling the whole time. While reading this. An amazing experience, traveling in your train of thoughts, just enjoying the scenery. Wow. I could get lost in there, and wouldn't mind. Fantastic write Terry.

Yep, that's normal lol
Terry, you had one job, ONE!...hahahaahah, as I read this I wondered what nature of offspring the pairing of Henny Youngman and Buddy Hackett might sound like... Some incredibly great lines here. Though, I know nothing of Morrissette (and don't want to) I still got the A.D.D. effect. My favorite here:
"yesterday I saw an old lady slip on the ice...it was like a slow motion trip across Europe, she had time to send a postcard--drain some pasta in the sink...-Titanic Salad...there was just enough iceberg to make me wish I had ordered the soup" hahahhaaha, pure genius...

-- hahahaha... i was addicted to all the tracks in alanis morrisette's "jagged little pill" once upon a time... and the buzz was so intense that i would write novels in my head... -- your post is a much more intriguing version of anything i wrote in my mind... -- it's like reading someone's mind... a somewhat spooky and yet enlightening experience... -- freely flowing thoughts lead to moments of clarity that ultimately tell us something that we haven't noticed... either about ourselves or someone else... (or so i think)...
