The Fire

The Fire

A Poem by Tasteless Heart

Pour some water on this flame
House on fire and you’re to blame
I’m not leaving, burn alive
Had my fill now of this life
Lost and lonely, ever afraid
This broken home burns down in shame

Suffocating in memories
Trapped in anger, I cannot breathe
Remorse is raging, I’m overcome
By my mistakes and what I have done
My skin peels slowly, my heart turns black
These flames engulf me, no turning back

I’ve been crying out for help
Fade to ashes, by myself
