Mindlessness

Mindlessness

A Poem by Tasteless Heart

Waiting for the answers
Praying for the end
Searching for the courage
Lose the nerve again

Planning for tomorrow
Hope it never comes
Dreaming of those moments
Slowly come undone

Looking for redemption
Searching for the strength
Trying to stay patient
Knowing what comes next

Tired of the anger
Tired of the hurt
Time to light the match up
Watch the future burn.

I've been in this very position myself. My mind alternates between wildly opposing ideas. You've illustrated this so well, the way it feels, flip-flopping like a fish. Your poem reminds me that even the most seemingly insignificant aspects of life can be expressed vividly in a great poem! And in so doing, you touch on something that resonates with many others. Thanks for that!
