Hand In Hand

You caught me

At a difficult time in my life

But I feel blessed

To have you around

To pull me up

From the ground,

You're so special

Not sure if you know

But you lifted my spirit

Gave me a reason to live

You most certainly helped me to grow

Through mind, body and soul,

Give yourself credit where credit is due

I admire you for all you have done

You have opened my heart

And pulled me through,

I can never thank you enough

So I'm writing this to express

What you have done,

But I do know this has come to pass

And from the bottom of my heart

I take a stand

Knowing you're still dear to me

And now I can be true to myself

As we dance through

Hand in hand.

The line "Give yourself credit where credit is due" means that friends should acknowledge the good things that they do for each other. Also, I feel friendship is defined by two people feeling comfortable being their true self around each other.
