Regain Control

Regain Control

A Poem by Tarry Franck

I let you enter my life
Not knowing what
You would cause
Now I stand on a ledge
Approaching a jump
Is what I pledge,
How I let you control me
I don't know
I feel like I'm burning within
With so much uncertainty
Hoping spontaneous combustion will begin,
My head spins on its axis
Not knowing if I will ever
Get a grip
And plant my nerves solid
This is going to be a long endeavor,
I don't know if I have what it takes
To regain control
Of my mind
My body
My soul.

Reminds me of 'How wild it is just to let life be' from the book Wild by Sheryl Strayed.

Strong poem, well done. It shows inner turmoil.

Could you review me.

A powerful poem my missed friend.

Once took me five years to gain my sanity. Love can lead us to madness and sweet places. Hard to regain sanity. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Well expressed. This one spoke to me on a personal level. I, too, once stood on such a ledge. Leapt and went SPLAT!. Fortunately no spontaneous combustion was involved. I suspect this is a quite common human experience. Again, well done.
