A Poem by Tarry Franck

I tripped over the strings attached
Where did they come from
How could I allow them to hold me back,
I didn't ask for this in my life
You had a package deal
That I was not interested in
It was nothing but strife,
Where do I go from here now
Because from here on out
I refuse to lay down or bow,
I will have to make a break
Cut these strings
Be true to myself
Never again fake,
I am now free
From the chains as well
You will have to accept
Who I want to be.

The crisis of this society is living but not let others live, wants respect but won't give respect, wants acceptance in full but won't accept others. I am not sure including myself how many of us deliberately letting others live as they are, may very few, so poem brought the naked truth to light, there is no light by living where mutual respect and acceptance is not there unless the other person is not physically or emotionally not able to do that commitment, even the logic, ethics, practicality plays a great role to break strings and freeing yourself, enjoyed fully

The point of being fed up and breaking free is a like painfully being set free, just as you expressed in this poem.
I like how you tied breaking free and being who you want to be together. Very nicely done!

This is beautiful my dear you have to be who you wish to be not who others see you to be i know you well enough to know that you love who you are and nothing or no body can change that and we all love you for who you are... Your writting its breathtaking... You leave with such a mark on us that we all are able to understand what you are going though in our own ways. You have no fear and it shows bightly though your words.... This is very deep and it is something very deep to you i know those who dont see the side of you that i get to see is surely missing out because you are something specail and i love you very much... Remember to be who you are and never let anyone change you

Thank you for reviewing Renee
I agree with the ending.
"You will have to accept
Who I want to be."
Sometime all we left is to get away from someone. I could feel the emotion for a wide separation. Thank you for the excellent poetry. Always good to read your words.
