Peeling Away

Peeling Away

A Poem by Tarry Franck

I now have
That I didn't realize
As I was riding alone
I could feel you peeling away
Layer after layer
A long journey it has been
Since I have been on my own,
You drifted from my thoughts so easily
I don't know why it took me so long
To walk away
And leave my feelings behind
And still keep them at bay,
As I move on
Day after day
Night after night
All those years I look back on
I realize sooner
I should have left you behind.

Many kind of people. I told my kids to know the people who want you.

Some people are part-time people. They don't want to stay forever. They can break our heart if we learn too late. I like the use of layers. Gave the poem a real life feel. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Leaving things behind can sometimes be good for us to do- Let the pain release from our vains and we wil flow freely with happiness again.... Beautiful work my lovely one

We all build invisible walls around us and then forget they are there.
