Empty Page

A Poem by Tarry Franck

An empty page
Sits before me
What do I write
To set these thoughts free,
Do I write about the daily news
Or facts about my life
What it may be
Is all about strife,
Who wants to hear that
So better to keep them tucked away
And spare you the boredom
Of my ways.

It doesn't even matter what you write about. Throwing a few words out on the page sometimes gets the creative juices flowing and once you have started, your imagination finds a way to create a poem. There is no boring poetry if you ask me. This is one I enjoyed. I hope 2014 brings you much inspiration. Keep writing. Lydi**

Sometimes we force it. We are not professionals! Thus, there is no pressure. Nothing in mind? Read! Look out the window! Start with an image! Then just play with it! Many of my poems start like that! Two Birds, Two Bubbles, Snowflakes. All of those pieces started with a simple image which became the first verse. I had no idea the poems would become what they did. That is what I mean by just let the poem take over. Next thing you'll know, you will be the instrument of the poem!

Great poem. How many times haven't we all sat and stared at that blank page wondering what to write, wondering if someone will ever read it, and if they do, will they like it?

Totally understood
Hard to write sometime. I have 40 journals of poetry written from 40 years of traveling. I go to them when I'm empty. Real life is more exciting than we realize. Location, activities and job can make some one life interesting and a mystery. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Yes but I will overcome.
Nice write about what the empty page is to a writer.
It is a scope into the either (is that spelt right im not sure sorry)
but yes it can bring so many possibilities and also have so many limitations
lovely write m'dear!

Thank you dear
I think we all have had this at some point in our writing journeys but i think this is the best part of being able to take a blank page and turn it into something breathtaking... Doesnt matter what it is just have to have fun with your words and explore you mind at a deeper level... I love this very much
