Fragile Hearts

Fragile Hearts

A Poem by Tarry Franck

A glass house
In the middle of the woods
A relationship was built on
Stones thrown tough
A happy home
They thought it would be not this rough,
But when passerby's saw the glass
They couldn't resist because for months
They could hear the arguments
Coming from within
So they added fuel to the fire
And threw stones of their own
Even threw some under garments,
Why they could not understand
Because what goes on within that couples life
Was mean to be
For what others were not to see
They were no longer here to be,
The depths of love therefore are fragile
Though the heart made of glass
This is what sometimes happens
Behind closed doors
Should not be within reach of outsiders.

You have a great framework here Tarry, I love the idea of a remote glass house. Outsiders think they can see through the transparent walls, but regardless of how things look, or sound to the rest of the world, there are unknown depths even the greatest divers could not know - that we ourselves sometimes do not even know. In short, this is a stunning concept. If I'm being critical, I would say that this may work better with breaks in the stanzas, and slightly more focus on flow. Particularly the line "they thought it would be not this tough" , is a bit over thought in my opinion, and could be simplified to fit into an apt rhythm
