Death Awaits

Death Awaits

A Poem by Tarry Franck

Death awaits you
He's by your side
No reason to run
Enjoy the ride,
Wherever he takes you
Don't make plans
You won't be there
Long enough to stand,
Some places are good
Some are bad
Just like you lived
Present and past,
It's a flight we will all take
But heaven forbid
I'm on your plane.

i do not fear death, we have met before...twice, as a matter of fact. as one who has been brought back from the "flatline" on two occasions i can honestly tell you that there is something beyond this realm. i have seen it. i have heard the voices of those souls already passed on and i have witnessed that bright light.....nice reminder of our mortality. well written.....

Nice twist at the end that kind of turns the tables somewhat.

I take it this is written in the devil's voice...

'But heaven forbid I'm on your plane'

This reminds me of Emily Dickinson's poem, "Because I Could Not Stop for Death."
