Innocent or Sinful

Innocent or Sinful

A Poem by Tarry Franck

You walked across my path
And though I didn't notice you
I could smell your essence
Such an amorous scent
How could I just let you pass,
I set out on the concrete jungle
To follow you
For you could be the one
I just knew,
I approach with such grace
We exchange a few words
Numbers and embrace,
In the concrete jungle
You never know who you may meet
Just an innocent stranger
That may be the man of your dreams
Who knows
A dinner
A good conversation
May be just what the doctor ordered
Does this deem me as a sinner,
With this date I am pleased
But I know deep within
Where my heart honestly leads,
It was a pleasure
To converse with another
But have I committed a sin
Against my love?

Sometime we can feel guilty for our thoughts. To bring and re-create old friendship can rebirth old emotions. A interesting poem. I have been in rooms with old lovers. Hard to talk when there are few hidden secrets. I like the strong ending to the excellent poetry.

I love the way you turn the poem around and offer a different view than what we are used to seeing from these types of poems or little tales of love just beginning. It brings up a good question and issue.

Thank you so much my dear friend :)
we never intend to stray...but this poem poses that perfect question...

can we help it if our heart moves in a different direction even when our head is saying, "Don't, you will be cheating"?

and even if we are pure as snow loyal to a love...we are not blind, and the senses still work at full force...i guess it is what we do with that once it happens...

we may be committed, but we are still alive and breathing and mostly, Aware.
