Innocent or Sinful

Innocent or Sinful

A Poem by Tarry Franck

You walked across my path
And though I didn't notice you
I could smell your essence
Such an amorous scent
How could I just let you pass,
I set out on the concrete jungle
To follow you
For you could be the one
I just knew,
I approach with such grace
We exchange a few words
Numbers and embrace,
In the concrete jungle
You never know who you may meet
Just an innocent stranger
That may be the man of your dreams
Who knows
A dinner
A good conversation
May be just what the doctor ordered
Does this deem me as a sinner,
With this date I am pleased
But I know deep within
Where my heart honestly leads,
It was a pleasure
To converse with another
But have I committed a sin
Against my love?

Sometime we can feel guilty for our thoughts. To bring and re-create old friendship can rebirth old emotions. A interesting poem. I have been in rooms with old lovers. Hard to talk when there are few hidden secrets. I like the strong ending to the excellent poetry.

I can imagine the scene you have painted so well, only you can answer the question in the last line?

great job:) loved, though yes...you probably did commit a sin against your love if you already have him

The subject is searching for the answer to the question, "How could I just let you pass", floowed by, "For you could be the one". Yet in the end we find there is already a lover who is in the heart and the bed, yet is not seen as "the one". The "sin" has been committed long ago and it is against the self not the lover. This is a place that one can stumble into and it will hold you like the quick sands of time... A great little descovery Tarry!

Such a deep question in this wonderful piece. I would love to answer here but privacy pleads that I not.........perhaps I could personally. Love your work.

Send me a message instead if you like and thank you for loving my work - your opinion means a lot to.. read more
I truly believe that if you fall in love with another, you had already fallen out of love with the first, or maybe it was not love to begin with.. It is however so normal to take an interest in someone beyond platonic companionship, and I think this is definitely worth thinking about. I love the idea of a "concrete jungle", came across this description several times now and it never fails to exite me. Well done!

here is the typical scenario, you are in a relationship and it is solid and you would never cheat, even given the opportunity, then you find out your partner cheated on you. on the other side of that coin, same relationship except you decide to "just go out" because your significant other will never know and then your guilt later makes you confess and you lose your love for doing so. the moral....what will be will be, regardless of what you do...it is ultimately you who has to live with having cheated. it is a decision but never a sin unless you make it one. excellent poem Tarry, this really made me think.
