EludingA Poem by Tarry FranckThere is a man Named Mojo Polk Who seemed to scare All the town folk, His demeanor was quite eluding But he COULD NOT care Due to his needs From the local store He had to walk the streets While everybody stared, Nothing of him, they knew But had an idea And judged him So stones they threw All the while he's done nothing wrong Well, except maybe say a BOO or two, He would buy a lot of groceries And hold them, barely When the groceries fell From the bags A woman appeared out of nowhere Her name was Nada She attempted to tell the town folk To stop treating this man the way they did But they all laughed While she helped him And she said to all of them "A time will come, be it day or night, when you can't find a cure For you ailments And you will be knocking on this man's door," She helped him carry Because she knew the town folk Did not care for him So she reached out And lent a helping hand Doing what they have never done In all his years Not wanting to approach this gentleman Due to their own fears, Yet she had no problems For she could read his thoughts How he truly felt An outcast Such sadness And he and she Were all alone Empty inside Maybe that's why Something drew her to him She didn't think twice To help such a gentleman, And quickly felt His frail but gentle soul And before she left, He reached for her hand "I bless you for the wondrous rescue" Acting like neither one had a clue Of what they were capable to do... They could both read each others thoughts... And before too long Seems her words came true A child came knocking at his door, Saying he needed some medicine To heal his mother Nada appeared not to long after And on the way she picked some herbs Even those these people Thought him and her to be evil To be damned This woman in need of their concoctions To free her from pain Neither one could turn their back Upon these folks that mad fun of them But they just couldn't drawback, Due to their nature They had more respect Towards the town folk Who always made fun or afraid Of Mojo Polk, Maybe this wold make a change And lead the town folk to understand What Mojo and Nada held within For times like these When the mother is able No matter how early Nor how late To Mojo and Nada at all times They will be there to ease others of their Aches and pains.
