10 To Life

10 To Life

A Poem by Tarry Franck

Those erotic moves
She makes on the dance floor
Leaves him wanting
Wanting her more,
He goes to watch her perform
As much as he can
And hand in hand she takes him
To a private room
The moment heats up
Sets his emotions afire
Leaves him wanting
Wanting her even more,
She wants for nothing
That he makes sure of
Because in his mind
It is all about them
And only him
She truly loves,
Little did he know
She had what is called "regulars"
And he was told from others
That for years
He had not been her only lover,
When he approached her
He was not himself
He was in a total rage
And released it
From its cage,
She took quite a beating
Could't speak or walk when he was done
Her "regulars" came running to her side
And he ended up worse than she did
But he deserved it all
And there were no witness to his defense
That he could call to stand by
And in the eyes of the jury
What was the verdict
They waited patiently
Guilty
10 years to life
He was sentenced...
In her eyes it was nothing compared
To what she endured
Every day of his life
She feels he should be tortured
The same way
He did to her on that day.

Thank you very much Luviva
A twisted tale of a story not far from reality. Sad truth is that only one guilty party paid the price...

:)
As a Government Politics student I find this amazing, it's often rare to find a piece that has a real grabbing, passionate message, besides one of love..
I love your flow additionally, it accurately matches the theme, usually I do not take to end-stopping poetry but this really works, the lines
'They waited patiently
Guilty
Ten years to life' are punching in their snappy length!
Really enjoyed this, thanks. :)

Thank you
I feel that this is a very powerful poem with a very strong message. I am glad you wrote this. I wish that more times that not the person who actually committed the crime would actually get punished.

A very sad tale in the poem. I like the strength in the story. Create a situation with a bad ending. I like the ending. Would be nice to force the same punishment on bad people. Thank you for the excellent poem.

Gruesome tale, makes the reader uneasy, at least it did me. More of these b******s should get their just desserts in real life. Good read and ending to a subject usually swept under the carpet. Thanks for sharing this Tarry.
