Beauty Above

Beauty Above

A Poem by Tarry Franck

Like a breath of fresh air
A cool winter breeze
I spread my wings
And set my soul at ease,
There's a gentleness
About this flight
That has allowed me
To open my eyes widely,
I can see now
What has been hidden
For so long
And realize all I had to do
To overcome what I thought was forbidden,
Was clean the dust off these wings
Take flight
And view all the beauty in the world
I've been missing,
A blessing it truly is
Will do it more and more often
If the heavens allow me to do so.

unless we release that inner being and find a way to be true to ourselves there is no way to be able to love and be loved by others. too many of us feel it is self indulgent and egotistical to find ourselves. when someone can accept us for who we are, not for their own expectations.... there is love. i love the way you have shown that this is possible. great write.

So true
yes, Tarry when we have lain in a terrible depression where there seems to be no light at the tunnel, it is a wonderful thing when we shoot up, spread our wings, brush them off and take flight......wondrous poem

The most powerful moments are the ones that catch us off guard when we are least expecting...it seems that you have awoken a new found understanding of self that shines through this poem. I hope you have found a peace that is not easily shaken. Thank you for sharing.
Happy holidays. :)

Yes Tarry! "Take flight" again and often. Loved the poem. Profound without too much drama.

Upligting and with a positive tone I have not seen in much of your earlier writings. I am happy to see this and it was a delight to read this one.
