All That JazzA Poem by Tarry FranckIt's been year's Oh, how I missed you The closer I get The rejoicement I hear, It's aching where I long to be Where the streets Flow with performances And local melodies Stir the inner child within me, The scent of New Orleans style recipes Permeate the air Vendors from all walks of life Selling such wonderful treats, Art and beauty everywhere you turn Walking along the Riverwalk To view the Mighty Mississippi Watching the tug boats pass Feeling blessed that a few times I had the pleasure to ride And to climb aboard The Steamboat Natchez Riverboat And hear those paddle wheels churn, I was pleased to cross that threshold Enjoying a delightful dinner on the deck And crossing the Ferry to just Admire the late night sky-scape The City beholds, Breathtaking to me Wish others could see The way it makes me feel, The Big Easy Has always stirred my soul All the history and so much more They open their arms Feels like home Give all they have Especially All That Jazz.
