Dear God

Dear God

A Poem by Tarry Franck

Why is it that you seem to call home
Our loved ones
Around the holidays
Making us feel left all alone,
It just doesn't seem fair
Leaving us in turmoil
Feeling nothing but despair,
Why take them from us
During these precious times
Leaving us missing them so much
Wanting to be with them
Instead of being left behind,
Is that selfish
Maybe so
Because it's so tough to fathom
Letting go,
We suffer in silence
Our souls bleed
Wanting nothing but
Them to return
And help us with our needs,
With feelings of such sufferings
Twisting our minds
Knowing all we can do
Is pray for our time
To come due.

This has the air of a heavy loss with lots of questions...
It normally happens when we loss something special to us...
The sense of loss and confusion is conveyed here perfectly...

"Making us feel left all alone,
It just doesn't seem fair"
Everything in this world seems to be unfair but balance should be kept... We can't have everything we like to have and I suppose that's the way of life...

Nicely penned!!!

So lovely when we can still remember those that have passed on who've touched our hearts...

my mom passed on Dec 15th, several years ago. Christmas has never been the same. i no longer celebrate or put up decorations. i wont blame it on God, but it was very poor timing. i felt this write, right down to the marrow and i have never seen this subject dealt with in poetry before, kudos for your bravery and thank you for making me aware that i am not alone in this malady. perfect write.

A lamentation poem dealing with a haunting theme. Very well constructed with fine word selection. In short, a very good job.
