ShadowA Poem by Tarry FranckWalking the path of knowledge That was placed before me In search of what others had set free, A journey my shadow and I Would have loved to share But before I set Our feet upon the path My shadow reached for me With a look of despair, With words of wisdom My shadow spoke to me "A journey I can not travel You must set me free", With a tear trickling Down my face I bowed my head And gave a heavy sigh Then kissed my shadow goodbye, I turned my back and set forth On the path that suddenly Changed its course, Between months of gathering knowledge And living off the land My body grew weak As I grasped for an unknown hand, I was pulled forward The sun casts a shadow on me Then a familiar voice said "You are what you wanted to be Now I must carry you with me".
