Sacred GroundA Poem by Tarry FranckOn sacred ground We unfortunately walk to a tomb I never wanted to see I feel it was too soon, He blessed us with your presence Your laughter Your love Your effervescence, We are where your body rests On bended knee To join hands and say prayers For we feel the need, Still not believing You are not here Breathing amongst us It's something I knew One day I would fear, For I would never be ready To let go But we must stay strong and steady, We're sad as we leave your grave Even though your soul does not reside here We have faith and belief you walk beside us But if we could feel you I would like to believe it would ease some of the pain.
