Withstand The Test

Withstand The Test

A Poem by Tarry Franck

I sit
I lay
Alone
A dark, twisted soul
Why must this happen to me
What have I done
To deserve such misery,
I see others happy
I see others carefree
Guess they don't have the burdens
Like I have hoovering over me,
Are mine self inflicted?
At times, yes, by a blade
But it helps me
From going into full rage,
I pray daily, soon these issues
Will no longer consume my mind
So I will have the strength
To withstand the test of time.

"Are mine self inflicted?"
A powerful poem. The above line is true for the most of us. The safety net leave us to be safe from allowing anything in. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
