Once Upon A Time

Once Upon A Time

A Poem by Tarry Franck

Below the willow
Perched on her web
Dressed in black
And tainted in red,
A widow mourned
The loss of a love
She once adored,
But their love became entangled in madness
And she could no longer refrain
From releasing venom
Into his veins,
A year passed
Her intricate web repaired
And before too long
Another love came along,
Mesmerized by her bewitching ways
His love for her grew stronger and stronger
And he became entwined in her maze,
A courtship he had always yearned to embrace
But after awhile he noticed
Different expressions surface
When they were face to face,
Every evening he began to strum the delicate strings
Playing passionate tunes
Attempting to captivate her
In hopes she would withhold
That deadly sting,
After years, months, days
He felt his time was drawing near...
While he slept - she crept
And released her deadly rage,
So yet again, she mourns
Not understanding why
She couldn't withhold a love...

A very good story. Some love will end up as death. Part of the walk of nature. I enjoyed how you mad the relationship have life and death. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.
