this road

this road

A Poem by tarasov
"

this is either really dumb or the best thing i've ever written..but at least i've written something after a bout of writers block...

"

I walk the straight and narrow

Without a single arrow to point

For me the right way to go.

And what if there is no right way?

And I walk day and night

Along this road of my own decay.

As I ponder these things

Somewhere a school bell rings

And a little child sings.

And here you come to lift me

And now I can clearly see

I could have had hope…

If only I had kept walking

Hope was waiting

Just around the corner.

But I failed to push forward

And now my hope is gone

Because it moved on.

So take my away with you

Take me to a place I don’t have to face such things.

Take me to the cross roads and let me go.

I think it makes sense, & it's very beautiful! ^_^ Reminds me of the longing we have to be free of our lives, and yet the incapability to do so. So we sometimes rely on others to help us along the way? Maybe? XD I really loved the third stanza in particular, and the idea that even when our lives seem to be in a standstill, the lives of others are still going on normally. The last line is also fantastic! (: Great poem, I really enjoyed reading!
