The indelible marks on sand

The indelible marks on sand

A Poem by taranum

The indelible marks on sand
I know those were yours.
Even though you had crossed the river
To touch the rocks of another shore.

The indelible marks on sand
I know those were yours.
Entrapped in glass, time became your slave.
To free from them
my past and future memories craved.

The indelible marks on sand
I know those were yours.
Blown by the feeble breeze which had failed to alter the wave's intent.
Could that be because the sea was aghast that my tears overpowered its contents?

The indelible marks on sand
I know those were yours.
Having endured millions of lives of thirst and pain
They remain sacred, and fossilised in the stoic mountains.

The indelible marks on sand
I wish those were not yours...
