A Poem by d. c. smith

Empty basements and friendship bracelets

Suburban faces and beer in cases

Satin laces and forgotten places

Setting paces with teeth in braces

Tall blond girls in tie-dye swirls

Hair that curls through finger-twirls

Necks in pearls, like dancing-whirls

Lost the world; my heart unfurled

Pretty smile, you're worth my while

Run a mile for your denial

Sit on tile and a lovely pile

Your eyes beguile; keep this on file

rhyme scheme was awesome here. very well done. I like the lines:
"Pretty smile, you're worth my while
Run a mile for your denial"
I felt those lines most.

tried to rate 101/100 but WC wouldn't allow me.

this worked so well. it was a fresh description of so many relatable experiences.
the last stanza was definitely my favorite.
