VeilsA Poem by d. c. smithI swear that I once saw a black, night sky Darker than the beard of Confucius But now all I see is a blanket of gray dye Lighted by the hand of pollution And if ever there were diamond stars so bright To flaunt to the world the sky's wealth I suppose they were no match for commercial flight For its riches the sky must sell So if I look up again and see a black, night sky Darker than the beard of Confucius I'll know just then how useless is my eye Disabled by the hand of pollution © 2009 d. c. smith |
