Veils

Veils

A Poem by d. c. smith

I swear that I once saw a black, night sky

Darker than the beard of Confucius

But now all I see is a blanket of gray dye

Lighted by the hand of pollution

And if ever there were diamond stars so bright

To flaunt to the world the sky's wealth

I suppose they were no match for commercial flight

For its riches the sky must sell

So if I look up again and see a black, night sky

Darker than the beard of Confucius

I'll know just then how useless is my eye

Disabled by the hand of pollution

I love "and if ever...flight".

This is an amazing piece. It makes the reader think you care about the environment and makes them think about what they could do to change things. I very nice job. Amazing imagery. Well done, two thumbs up.

Thanks for sharing.
