chapter oneA Chapter by tanyachapter one. kims new life. hope you enjoy! :) KIM
Sigh. The last year of my high school had been a full of
sighs. I dated a jock. Broke up within 5 months. It wasn't a brutal break up. I didn't really love him .then my so called dad, who never bothered to ever
contact me after leaving my mom and me ,suddenly decided it was time to talk to
his one and only child. So he did. He called on our personal number, spoke to
my mother. And after a series of quarrels and bouts of tears, it was finally decided. I was
to go spend the summer with my dad. Yayee. Right? No! I absolutely resented the
idea of spending my summer with my dad I had no idea about except that he was a
musician who lived in la jolla , California. So here I was, driving with we the
kings blaring at its loudest, with a nervous flutter in my belly. By the time I was in La Jolla, I was a ball of nerves. What
would my dad look like? I've seen his pictures but I've never met him. What if
he doesn't like me? I couldn't contain the nervousness. After seriously
considering driving back home, i finally reached the address. One word. Wow.
This neighborhood was beautiful. The houses were right next to the beach. I’ve
never been to a beach! This was exciting! The excitement mixed with nervousness
almost made me want to puke my guts out.
“You haven’t changed much since I last saw you. You look just
like your mother” I was jerked out of my daze by my dad’s voice. “uhh. Hey... Dad. Nice to see you after what, 12 years? “ “Hello kimmydoll” he looked down as he spoke “Please. I’d much rather prefer my actual name Kim. You lost
the right to call me that when you left us”
I spoke through the lump in my throat. After 12 years of not seeing him
even once he had changed. He had these lines on his face now, and graying hair,
but he still looked handsome. “Can you show me to my room?” I started walking past him with
my luggage and into the house. The house was one of the most beautiful id ever
been in. the main entrance had a direct view across the living room of the
beach. There were beautiful white curtains everywhere. And a white wind chime
right at the door which lead to the beach, the hardwood floor was clean and
smooth. This wasn't what I thought my dad’s house would look like. “Come on. You can take the room facing the sea. I know you’d
love it” he said leading me into a room .the room had a king size white bed
facing the beach. Amazing was the only word I could think of. I was awe struck. I just nodded at my dad. “You can freshen up if you want. I’d be expecting you at the
dinner table at 8. I’m across the hall if you need me “and he left the room. Wow. The past 24 hours had been an emotional roller-coaster
for me. I hope a soak in the tub would bring me some relief. © 2014 tanyaAuthor's Note
