Let Me Change You, For You and Me

Let Me Change You, For You and Me

A Poem by Tanya
"

This poem is about a women who loves a man that doesn't deserve anything, yet she can't help but try to change him...

"

Let Me Change you for You and Me

Why do I compare myself to you?

As if you’re better than me, stronger.

My stupid adulation grew.

I can’t stand to be with you any longer.

Should I leave you alone to your incredulous perfection?

Or do you want me to stand on my feet and bow?

I’m creating your own misperception.

But I’m not giving up now.

I want to change you to a better human being.

I’m treated like a slave.

And shame upon me is all I’m seeing.

I might as well suffer in my grave.

Why don’t you want your own change?

Why won’t you let my own happiness with you take its own range?

Hi. A man self absorbed is generally just that. He may secretly want change, thus his hanging around....but addictions and predispositions to vices and habits are deep seated. My advice to a woman wanting something different is-- Go find it. If he cares he'll find you and slowly morph into a more palatable companion, if not; the better outcome for both parties.

Good write from one perspective though--

i like the vibe of this poem, the overall idea behind it

i really liked the line:
"I'm creating your own misperception."

it was the line i was waiting for while i was reading!
if you hadnt of had it i might not have liked the poem so much!

i usually try to tell people what i would do with their poem, offer my opinion on how i would have written it, u know, to open a new perspective for them to consider
but i cant say what i would have done differently on this one

but i really like how it flows like a free verse, but still has rhymes
its like i wasnt expecting the rhymes, but it was good

I'm not really into talking about myself, but I guess I should now. I love writing, really, it's the only thing that really defines me. I love poetry, but I love Prose more. There's more room to work .. more..
