Our GenerationA Poem by TanushviOur
Generation It’s a freaky, funny, crazy time , When studying is a sort of crime. Sleeping in your beds till one, All you want to do is have fun. “Be a doctor, teacher, lawyer or
something, You can’t sit home forever, doing
nothing.” These words are said in every
household, But we just ignore them every time
we’re told. “Get serious,” say parents, teachers
and all, But all we want is to enjoy the free
fall. They always give our age numerous labels, Callow, Petulant, ungrateful, insolent
rebels. But that, will never be a
botheration, To the people of our generation. We go to movies, go to malls, We’re past the age to play with
dolls. Fendi, Gucci, Jimmy in the bags, ‘Cause I’m addicted to the tags. They’d never understand our
obsession, Why we need to shop even during
recession. We like Rihanna, Kesha, Taylor
Swift, Lady Gaga, To us, Cindy Lopper, Lionel Richie
is a saga. They say, “For you, we’re scared, World is evil, just be prepared.” We can think and make our choices, We aren’t afraid to raise our
voices. This poem is my dedication, To all the people of our generation. © 2013 Tanushvi |
