Lies

Lies

A Poem by Tannit

summer's arid winds
wash across your face
you smile as its fingers lightly
brush along your neck
the light is playing with your hair
making it glow red

tiptoe through the mazes
of your thoughts and half-spun plans
walk upon the clouds tonight
the rain will hold your hand.

the moon will leave the stars
to play a game of make-believe
while the setting sun casts shadows
on your oddly peaceful dreams

close your eyes to sleep, pretend
you never have to wake
in your mind it's beautiful
so lets ignore all else

you remembered colors
and tried to learn their names
but lies are all the truth you know
and truth is just a lie.

About
I don't know how to be anything else but what I am and though I know on an abstract level exactly who I am, I will always be unable to describe myself satisfactorily. But I can try to sum up: -I .. more..
