My interpretation of the new generation thats sweeping the nation. Or maybe just expression in general.

Like wallpaper
these words
out of our mouths and typed on these self-obsessed shrines
are only pasted upon the surface with yellowed glue
that rots and deteriorates over time
eventually revealing the stark layers of wood and plasterboard
scared and shy beneath it
and dripping with imperfections
but for the time being
hang loosely on the framework to create a single image
a collection of thoughts and memories
values and dreams, objects and people
those few things that manage to scratch their way to the surface
like rats
to make their presence known
in the twisted misconceptions of these words
created by the bonds of self-obsession and self-doubt
analyzing, with a desire to understand
and take every shred and essence of deepest soul
to be printed and plastered on the nearest surface
like wallpaper.
